A Festival-Inspired Bohemian Loft at Hippie Castle
Set beneath the historic roof of Hippie Castle in Vianden, Loft Summer of 69 is the house’s most generous and free-spirited space.
With high ceilings and flowing levels, the room feels almost outdoors — like a summer festival under a tent, where music, light and movement shape the atmosphere. The original restored concrete floor keeps the medieval authenticity alive: rough, honest, untouched in spirit. History remains visible.
The space unfolds organically, without rigid separation:
• Entrance area with bathroom zone — designed to feel open and natural, almost like showering after a day at the beach
• A generous living area with a surprising mix of bohemian ease and slightly bourgeois furniture
• A sculptural wooden staircase leading to an upper lounging platform — perfect for listening to music or relaxing
• A second mineral staircase rising to a protected sleeping niche, intimate and cocooned beneath the roof
There are no harsh boundaries here. The volumes slide into one another, like landscapes blending at the seaside.
Like all rooms in Hippie Castle, this space is part of a carefully restored medieval house where guests can retreat into their own universe — and then step into shared spaces to meet others, exchange stories, and live the spirit of openness inspired by the idea of “imagine all the people.”
Sex on the Beach is not simply a room.
It is an experience — somewhere between summer, music and stone walls that have stood for centuries.
